It's cool, cold. I didn't need to work or pay bills or anything. You just do your thing.

So. That last post came from an event. My grandfather had a massive heart attack. He was rushed to the ER and, once they figured out what happened, flown directly to a different hospital with a special heart center. The doctor gave him a 10% chance of survival if they did not perform surgery, and a 40% chance of survival if they did perform surgery.

It was a very rough week for my entire family. I was checking in hourly to hear the latest news. For a few days, he was surviving with 10 IV lines, a ventilator, a heart pump, and oxygen.

The window of time was closing, and the day came for the cardiologist to perform surgery. He's a good doctor. After being so near death, my grandfather survived, he survived his heart attack, and he has been on the mend ever since. Day by day, he's been growing stronger, gaining back his personality, and weaning off his medications.

I got to see him finally today, after being worried for about a month. He is still in rehab at a nursing home, but he should be able to go home soon. Obviously I must have missed the worst of it, because he looked, sounded, and acted exactly like I remember. He has officially survived. Today is a good day.

Every Thanksgiving, I am most thankful for my family and our health. This Thanksgiving even more than ever, I stand by this. I am blessed to have 4 healthy grandparents, 2 non-divorced parents, a brother that I actually like, and a gaggle of aunts, uncles, and cousins who are awesome.

So blessed in this life.
